On Wednesday year 7&8 students from Glenbrae school went to the White Water Park. At the White Water park we got to do River crossing,Rafting and swimming. We started off the day by going on a bus to the White Water Park, when we got there we ate our morning tea. Straight after morning tea we went into a theater room, it showed a trailer of what we were going to do while in the water. After that we went to change into our togs, then we got to wear life jackets and helmets. Next we got into groups, each group had a teacher and they are gonna help you with rafting and river crossing.
First up we had river crossing. It was fun and terrifying. There were currents and waves crashing down the river, we had to start balancing our body while crossing the river. We started to get into a duo and we held each other's life jackets while crossing the river. The technique was to bend your knees like your about to tackle someone and hold still while crossing the river. Next we got into a triangle and crossed the river while still in a triangle.
Soon after that we got into our rafts. It was an inflatable raft. Once we were in our rafts we started to paddle across the lake, the people in front of the raft were controlling our movement. We went up a ramp that had a convertible slider that got us onto the river. Once we got on the river everything turned into a dream the waves were pushing our raft down. We went down the river three or four times and it was fascinating.
Lastly we had swimming and you won't guess how cool it was. On the river there are parts where we would fall into the water and once we were under water it was fun. The current and waves were pushing us down the river fast and it was astonishing, Awesome and amazing that was the best part of the trip. The trip was amazing and I'm thankful my school thought of a trip like this.
