Build a Super Seesaw!

Today I got to make a super seesaw. What you will need is a toilet paper tube, Blue tack, String, Long wooden spoon . You first start by grabbing your spoon and your toilet paper tube. After you got the both of them grab your string and then put your spoon on top of the toilet paper tube. Then tie them together and their you have a super seesaw you can put anything on it. I enjoyed learning how to make different types of stuff this holiday. The one I mostly liked was the super column.

Build a Sundial!

Today I built a sundial, it was hard because I didn't have enough cardboard cause I used it on the super column. I had to make the sundial a lot smaller. You start by cutting a 11 centimeter string then you grab some blue tac and roll it up as a small ball. Then stick your string on to the bluetac then stick the blue tack onto the cardboard then grab a pencil and hold the string and make a circle. I struggled with why it looks like a really bad circle. Then you cut out the circle with a pair of scissors and also draw a 11 centimeter triangle then cut it out. Once that's finished you grab your rolled up blue tack and glue it to the middle of the cardboard circle then grab your tringle and stick it on. After that you mark where the shadow of the triangle is on the cardboard circle. I learned that in ancient times that's how they tracked the time of the day by using the sun.

Build a Super Column!

Today I got to build a super column which was very cool.  For this experiment you will need Pencil, Ruler, Cardboard, Scissors, 3 sheets of paper, Tape and heavy and light objects. You first cut out two cardboard rectangles it doesn't matter what size they are as long as they are identical. After that you grab one piece of paper and fold it verticaly and then cut the middle part of the folded area. Once you have your 2 cut pieces of paper put it on the rectangle and then the top of the paper should be taller then it after that you fold the top of the piece of paper by using the cardboard. Do that twice with your two cut pieces of paper. Then grab your second sheet of paper and fold them 2 by 3. After that you cut it out in the middle once you have unfolded it. After that use one of the folded sheets  and fold them together to make a tringle shape 3D. After that do the same on the other sheet and don't forget to tape it. After that grab the last piece of paper and cut out the middle of the paper and with the both of them roll them up into a circle and tape it. You try your walls first so grab your first piece of paper you expermented on and test out how good it is when presure is applied to it but first put the two cardboard rectangle at the top and the bottom. Then put anything light or heavy on it and see what it can hold after that test it out on your other pieces of paper.

Build an Anti Gravity Glass!

Well to make an Anti Gravity Glass you need to have a glass of water obviously, A squared shape cardbord that can cover the glass of water and a jar thats empty that you need just incase you failed your experiment like I did. Cover your cup with the cardboard then flip it over, just try to keep the water inside of it. then once your ready take off the cardboard and It should be able to not spill out but I failed. Next I cut up a water bottle and put a small hole in each side of it, then I put a string into each side of the bottle then double knot it. After that I put some water into it and started spinning it around as you can see in the video the point was to try to balance the water in it.

How to build a Xylophone

Today I did my first experiment and it was quite fun even though I forgot to record but when I do the next experiment I will be sure to record. What we needed for this experiment was some glasses of water that has water in them and don't have water in them. I started tapping my pencil on the glasses and it sounded like and Xylophone. What you do is have different lengths of water in each cup so when you tap each cup it would sound different. After I did that we grabbed 5 pieces of paper and rolled them up then taped them to stay in that rolled up shape. After that I started cutting them to different lengths so when I tap it with my pencil it would sound different.

Materials

5 Pieces of Paper
-
A pair of scissors
-
Tape
-
A Pencil
-
Glasses of water
