Kiwi Can - Week 1

Topic: Respect for our school - Theme: Respect

Today at kiwi can we got to learn how to use our values. We were talking about how to respect our school. To respect our school we need to respect their property like their tables, Chairs ,books and playground. So we played our energizer and it was called heads up. In that game you first start by pointing your head down then as you lift your head up you have to look at a person if that person is looking at you. It was fun. Next we started talking about our values and what our values are. Our Values are Caring, Respect, Integrity and more. Our activity was fun. I forgot what the name was but this is how it goes. So there's a leader she or he has to turn around and do a move like ducking down hands in the air, our hands beside. If the people that are behind the leader do the same thing as the leader loses and has to sit down. Next we got to play GKQ. We got into 4 lines and each line got a buzzer to do. We got some general knowledge questions.

Build a Sundial!

Today I built a sundial, it was hard because I didn't have enough cardboard cause I used it on the super column. I had to make the sundial a lot smaller. You start by cutting a 11 centimeter string then you grab some blue tac and roll it up as a small ball. Then stick your string on to the bluetac then stick the blue tack onto the cardboard then grab a pencil and hold the string and make a circle. I struggled with why it looks like a really bad circle. Then you cut out the circle with a pair of scissors and also draw a 11 centimeter triangle then cut it out. Once that's finished you grab your rolled up blue tack and glue it to the middle of the cardboard circle then grab your tringle and stick it on. After that you mark where the shadow of the triangle is on the cardboard circle. I learned that in ancient times that's how they tracked the time of the day by using the sun.

You will need
Blue Tack
-
Cardboard
-
Scissors
-
11 CM string
-
Pencil

Build a Super Column!

Today I got to build a super column which was very cool.  For this experiment you will need Pencil, Ruler, Cardboard, Scissors, 3 sheets of paper, Tape and heavy and light objects. You first cut out two cardboard rectangles it doesn't matter what size they are as long as they are identical. After that you grab one piece of paper and fold it verticaly and then cut the middle part of the folded area. Once you have your 2 cut pieces of paper put it on the rectangle and then the top of the paper should be taller then it after that you fold the top of the piece of paper by using the cardboard. Do that twice with your two cut pieces of paper. Then grab your second sheet of paper and fold them 2 by 3. After that you cut it out in the middle once you have unfolded it. After that use one of the folded sheets  and fold them together to make a tringle shape 3D. After that do the same on the other sheet and don't forget to tape it. After that grab the last piece of paper and cut out the middle of the paper and with the both of them roll them up into a circle and tape it. You try your walls first so grab your first piece of paper you expermented on and test out how good it is when presure is applied to it but first put the two cardboard rectangle at the top and the bottom. Then put anything light or heavy on it and see what it can hold after that test it out on your other pieces of paper.

Build an Anti Gravity Glass!

Well to make an Anti Gravity Glass you need to have a glass of water obviously, A squared shape cardbord that can cover the glass of water and a jar thats empty that you need just incase you failed your experiment like I did. Cover your cup with the cardboard then flip it over, just try to keep the water inside of it. then once your ready take off the cardboard and It should be able to not spill out but I failed. Next I cut up a water bottle and put a small hole in each side of it, then I put a string into each side of the bottle then double knot it. After that I put some water into it and started spinning it around as you can see in the video the point was to try to balance the water in it.
