Summer Learning Journey/Discovering Aoteroa/Week 1/Day 1/Activity 2/Explorers

My Culture back round.

Hi I'm Viliami and I am a Tongan but was born here in New Zealand. I am from a village in Tonga called Nukulofa don't want to say where I live in Nukulofa Villages but being Cybersmart. So Nukulofa is the Capital of Tonga. Did you know Tonga was the first country in the Pacific to have a kingdom since King George in 1875.

  1. Malo e lelei Viliami,

My name is Mani and I am going to be joining you on the Summer Learning Journey as a blog commenter. I am so excited that you are joining us for the Summer Learning Journey 2019-2020.

This year I am so excited that I get to read over the Manaiakalani blogs, especially because I have visited a few of the schools in your cluster. I am really looking forward to summer, aren't you? In my spare time I like spending time with my family and hanging out with my friends. I also love to exercise and write songs in my spare time. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Thank you for sharing your cultural background. I am Tongan too! That is completely fine, you don’t have to share all of your information. I don’t live in Tonga anymore so I can tell you what village I come from. I come from the village, Kolonga. When was the last time you went to Tonga? I haven’t been since I was little and wonder how much has changed! I found your fact about Tonga being the first country in the Pacific to have a kingdom so cool, go Tonga!

By adding some bright colours or a few pictures of the food items to your blog post I think it would really catch people’s attention. I can see that you are really keen on completing all the activities Viliami so keep up the good work :)

    Malo,

    Mani

That's okay, you shouldn't feel like you need to share where you live!!

Wow! The first country in the Pacific with a kingdom? Thank you for sharing that. It's always fun to find out new information about other countries.

    Great job!
